Wonky Squares

Hello and welcome. Feels good to be back to creating after a wonderful visit with family.

Today’s card is for our grandson-in-law. Not knowing what to do I finally decided on using wonky squares from the Silhouette. Card base is 5×5 and it took a few tries for me to get the wonky squares the right size. Pp was found online, sentiment circle was also found online but it had a swirly center that I changed to the number. Being the nasty person that I am I just had to show his age. Circle is popped up. When I set the wonky squares on the card it looked like it needed something else, so I decided to add a little texture using a crimper.

Happy 6th Birthday

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card is for our youngest great-grandson. Background panel was embossed with Cuttlebug’s Happy Birthday ef. Patterned paper was found online. Large number 6 is from the Silhouette, small circles were punched from the pp. All images are popped up. This went together in a very short time.

I won’t be posting again very soon, we’re going to MN to celebrate our 60th anniversary with our kids. We’ll also be celebrating our daughter & s-i-l’s anniversary and our daughter’s 50th birthday. There will be a lot celebrating going on. Lots of fun time catching up with kids, grandkids & great grandkids.

Happy 14th Birthday

Hello and welcome.

Oh my, great-grandchildren grow up way too fast. Today’s card is for our second oldest great-grandson. I didn’t really have any idea of what kind of card to make but I thought a black & white background might be kind of cool so off to Google I went and found this kind of funky pattern. Then I thought a funky background should have a wonky square accent. Wonky square is from the Silhouette, then I printed the sentiment from my Hallmark program. My little brain just hasn’t figured out the print and cut feature of the Silhouette. Square is popped up. Here’s a look at the inside.

Butterflies And Roses

Hello and welcome. Well, I finally finished my first lattice card. Because the creative part of my brain was on vacation this took longer than it should have. I'm actually kind of pleased with the end result.

Patterned paper on the top front and lower inside was found online, die cut rose is Gina K's Tropical Blooms colored with Copic's, butterflies are Butterfly 2 from Dies R Us. Butterflies have a piece of mounting tape in the center so the wings aren't attached to the background.

This was entered at The Sisterhood of Crafters: Butterflies

Young Once

Hello and welcome. Today's card is for our b-i-l. Since I didn't have any actual burlap, I found burlap background paper online. Sentiment was also found online. Because the paper looks burlapy I thought this wonky edge unnamed die set would work well. Sentiment piece is popped up. Corner gold pieces are from my stash. Below is a look at the inside.

Seeing the "frame" from the die cut I thought it would be perfect for inside.

Birthday Advice

Hello and welcome. Today's card is for a very special gal who appreciates my humor. After a couple years of her being our favorite server we became very good friends.

Patterned paper and sentiments were found online. Outside sentiment is a recent find and the inside sentiment has been in my file for several years. I thought they combined pretty well. Oval die is Stitched Ovals by Di-namics. That seems to be my go-to die lately.

Masculine Birthday

Hello and welcome. Here I am with another card using foil. Embossing the foil didn’t work out too well for me last time, so this time I mounted the foil on cs before embossing and it worked much better. Today’s card is for our son. Zig Zag ef is from Stampin Up, die cuts are Spellbinders Classic Diamonds, corner strips were cut on the paper trimmer. Number candles were found online and sentiment was printed on the computer.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy and safe.

Foiled Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today's card is for my bonus grandson aka, favorite busser. While perusing Pinterest I saw several cards with a similar layout and using foil. I tried embossing the foil but that didn't go well for me, so I just crumpled it. After it was all put together, I thought if I used a black stamp pad and a brayer it might soften the glare of the foil. So, I took it apart, used a different piece of foil, brayered it and was happy with the result and put it back together. Center square is Stitched Squares by Die-namics with sentiment printed on the computer. Square is popped up.

Glittery Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our breakfast server. She’s a glittery kind of gal so just had to have glitter on her card. I had seen several versions of this card on Pinterest. For the strips I covered 1/4′ double back tape with glitter. Sentiment is from Gina K’s Birthday Blessings set heat embossed with Stampendous Marcasite Opaque ep. Flower is Spellbinders Tattered Blossoms. To my surprise I found a small piece of shiny pink cs in just the right shade of pink for the flowers. To get the right size punch for the flower center I used SU’s Owl punch. Flower is popped up. Inside sentiment “it isn’t the birthday that’s important, it’s the person… let’s celebrate you! Because she was recently married, I couldn’t resist adding “Happy first Birthday as a married woman.”

I'm entering this in Colorful Options challenge.

Thanks for stopping by I so appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

What I Deserve
